Job Description

Position Summary:

Assist business unit leadership teams on a wide range of business processes and performance. Activities include help with auditing, analyzing, driving continuous improvement, reporting of business unit performance to include recommended corrective actions.

Primary Duties:

+ Accountable for assisting with the auditing process related to a wide range of areas within the business unit.

+ Assists with the evaluation of document control process to ensure appropriate procedures are in place, documentation inventories are current, document owners are established, review frequencies are maintained, member training is accurate and current, change request process is followed, and deviation process is followed.

+ Primary function is to evaluate the clarity and specificity of the documentation, with the goal of clear communication of required steps within procedures.

+ Assist with the evaluation of business unit performance relative to corrective action creation and completion.

+ Works in a partnership capacity will all members of the business unit to drive the timely completion of action items.

+ Evaluates the cost of quality associated with a wide range of events. Based on severity and facts associated with individual events, has a varying level of responsibility and involvement to ensure events are appropriately reported, investigated, documented, and corrective actions tracked to closure. Additionally, prepares and presents findings as requested to business unit leadership.

+ Accountable for process evaluation and improvement initiatives. This includes conducting systematic process reviews applying lean methodologies for process improvements.

+ Facilitates meetings on a wide range of business performance metrics and reviews.

+ Analyze a wide range of business activities and provides performance metrics and recommendations.

+ Perform a wide range of duties associated with the investigation of events and root cause analysis.


+ Bachelor's Degree; or an Associate's degree and Five (5) years' experience with plant processes and procedures, quality assurance, auditing, document control processes, metrics reporting and business performance scoreboards; In Lieu of a degree Seven (7) years' experience with plant processes and procedures, quality assurance, auditing, document control processes, metrics reporting and business performance scoreboards.

+ Valid State Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Degree in Quality Assurance or related field


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

+ Personal computer skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office applications and other related software (e.g. Excel, Word, SAP, SharePoint).

+ Interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing with members at all levels throughout the organization.

+ Ability to document audit work performed and produce leadership level final audit reports.

+ Ability to work well on a team.

+ Ability to work with minimal supervision and make independent decisions.

+ Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and practices.

+ Detail oriented with strong planning and organizational skills.

+ Ability to assist in the development of audit questions from written procedures to determine if procedure is being followed.

+ Ability to assist an audit team in planning, conducting and reporting an audit.

+ Analytical skills with understanding of how to link operational improvements to business results.

+ Ability to coordinate a project and prioritize assignments as required by workload.

+ Ability to identify root causes of business problems.

+ Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations.

Working Conditions:

+ Work in an office and plant environment.

+ May require travel.

+ Use of vehicle may be required for travel.

+ May work non-standard hours.

+ May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground and in confined spaces.
